Unfortunately Discogs has changed their API breaking OCD discogs import function.
It's been more than a month and we're still waiting on an update.

Hi,

Are you using latest version?

I don't have any trouble using Discogs right now using latest version.

Andrei

Nor do I. Just added a cd with no problems at all.

hi andrei
I just downloaded latest build (again) and istalled it.
Unfortunately it does not work
Message is "An error occurred in the secure channel support".
I also noticed that Internet explorer does not work (I'm not using it last 5 years anyway).
I followed instructions http://agsci.psu.edu/it/how-to/troubleshoot-login-to-secure-web-sites-in-internet-explorer-8-ie8
and that fixed IE issues.
But OCD is not fixed !
I can import from amazon but not from discogs.

Hi
On further investigation I conluded that when I installed OCD in another machine (win 7) discogs import works fine.
I decided to delete the registry key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Firetongue\Organizer\Di scogs] on the pc that has the issue , in order to evoke OCD to open the discos authorization form. Unfortunately when I press the import from discos NOTHING happens. It does not open the browser to login to discogs.
The problem is on a machine using Windows Xp with IE 8 if it makes any difference.
I really need to make OCD work on this machine
any help is welcome
thanks

Hi again
I think I found my problem.
"The Discogs servers use TLS 1.2 for SSL connections, which is unfortunately not available on Windows XP"
Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm in the same boat - I have Windows XP and Discogs has stopped working on several of my programs, including OrangeCD.

I really hope there is a fix as I completely rely on Discogs when using OrangeCD for cataloging my vinyl buys. I prefer it to Amazon for CDs as well as I can import much more detail.

When looking for an answer for another program I use, MP3tag, I found this: https://forums.mp3tag.de/index.php?showtopic=20977. The fix suggested there is to replace all instances of https with http.

I was wondering if there is anything similar we can edit in OrangeCD. Having a look the program files, I can't see anything obvious. If there's nothing we can do at our end, would you consider releasing a version for XP where https is changed to http for the Discogs urls?

I just added an album from Discogs with no issues using Windows 10 and OCD Build 21902 (6.5.7).

Discogs does not work in the same build for XP.

The errors window: "An error occurred in the secure channel support".

I understand a lot of programs are dropping support for XP, but I hope if it's something as simple as changing https to http, OrangeCD would consider helping us out with this.

I can confirm Discogs still works with some other programs I have, like TagScanner. So it's not impossible for XP to connect to Discogs.

There is no easy fix, unfortunately. Windows XP lacks a critical component required to access Discogs these days. TagScanner is probably using a third-party networking solution.

Suddenly Discogs is working for me again. I don't know if it's something they changed at their end, or because I tried something with my browsers. This may be totally irrelevant, but I tried visiting api.discogs.com in Chrome, where it didn't work, and Firefox, where it did, and then (temporarily) changed my default browser to the latter. Thought it was worth mentioning in case it triggered Windows to allow the connection to Discogs. But I have no idea how these things work, so it may have nothing to do with it.

What's the point in posting this ?
It's obvious that this thread refers to problems concerning legacy os (windows xp).
Have you not read none of the above posts or are you trying to be a smart guy?

YES! It's working again on windows xp x64. Magic ?
Obviously discogs changed (luckily) something again.

You were blaming Andrei for not fixing OCD to solve this problem, when the problem was actually the crappy operating system you use (legacy, indeed, that's a good one, maybe you have a sense of humour after all), so I pointed out that OCD works fine with Discogs. Helps diagnose the problem.

I'm not blaming anybody. I looking for a solution to my problem. I totally respect andrei's work, and love OCD.
But you have to understand (I believe that you're not a programmer. I would be surprised otherwise!) that a developer's work is to try to find a solution to the problems of the software users.
If andrei would have replied (which he could) that legacy OS is no longer supported by OCD I would have gladly accepted his answer because I know how difficult it is for a developer to test a software across different platforms , OS, Browsers etc.
Anyway I still think that you're trying to play smart because pointing that OCD works fine in Win 10 does not help at all.
We already knew what the problem was (see previous post about TLS)
