Several days ago OrangeCD Suite stopped downloading info from Discogs.com - all I had was an "Unknown error". Yesterday I installed the newest version of OrangeCD (6.4.8.16916 - before it was 6.3.smth), and it searched Discogs.com (and found what I was looking for) but I coudn't download anything - it just showed "downloading information" message and nothing more... Is anything wrong with Discogs.com or OrageCD or my computer maybe?

It is expected that old version doesn't work with Discogs. New version should work fine.

Is there a session log? When something's wrong, usually you should see an error message with separate tab for session log. Feel free to forward me the log at orangecd@firetongue.com and I'll take a look.

I'd better post it here for others to seee - it could be useful for somebody else.

So - I try to download info about album "Relict" by a band called "Mind Eclipse" from Discogs.com. Dearch goes OK, the release is found at once. Then I try to download the info - I wait for a couple of minutes and get timeout error and a log:

Nothing else.

Then I try it again and after some time I get timeout error and the log goes like this:

Another thing that could be of interest - up to the January 15th everything worked fine with an old version of OrangeCD. Now it doesn't with neither old nor the old version...

According to the log, there was a connection error while fetching artwork image. I don't have any trouble getting that image.

Are you using any antivirus or any software that can block network access? I'd try disabling it for a moment and see if it fixes the problem.

Hi,

I tried Discogs a few minutes ago. Downloaded with no problems.

You have to first login to Discogs from the login page and then authorise OrangeCd to get "the add albums from discogs" pop up.

All upgrades are free.
Just download the latest version from the website and install on the new version.
I have no problems with Discogs using the latest version - 6.4.8

Yes - you need the latest version to continue using Discogs feature. You can install it from this link: http://www.firetongue.com/orgcdfull.exe

Unfortunately it is not possible to make old version work with new Discogs web service.

What I could find out is that OrageCD does download info on Cds whch have no artwork at Discogs.com, but doesn't get info where images are contained. I uninstalled my antivirus software and switched off the firewall - still no result.

I still think that the problem is somewhere in OrageCD's way of handling info from Discogs.com...

What is your system version?

There's something fishy is going on... OrangeCD cannot reach image download URL. It times out, according to the log.

I have an idea what could cause it and can try to fix it. Will you be able to run private build to test it?

For what it is worth, I had no problems using OCD to download info and artwork from Discogs using 6.4.9. (Windows XP, Avast! anti-virus active). I didn't do anything special. Although it is not something I would normally download I was even successful with the two albums you seem to have had trouble with.

Well... Finally I got it working. Though I had to reinstall the whole OS.

But the interesting point is that I didn't log in to the Discogs.com, I just didn't get the window which asked me to log in... So Discogs.com works fine without logging in? And what happens if I log in somehow sometime?
