I don't think it can be done using the Genre field that is on the library tab. However, you can use the Category field that is on the general tab. It's probably a lot of work if you already have lots of entries, but you could switch the values between these two fields. If you aren't using Category (as it I happens I don't use it because I was never clear what to use it for as I have different categories in different databases because they need different displays, etc.), then you can add values to it through view -> preferences -> database, edit selected list. You could also transfer what is in genre to category using Tools -> Advanced.
