Difficulty to make box sets

Yes, I have read the FAQ about making box sets. But whenever I select the 2 (or more) single discs to create a box set, I get the error message:
"Could not create a box set because one or more selected records are already part of the set."
I have no idea how to resolve this. I scanned 2 CDs and they are now in the DB as single discs.
How to make a set of them?

Go to the general tab of Record properties. There is probably something entered in "part #" of the "part of multiple-disc set" section. This needs to be deleted.
