Lost the format info

I keep different format info such as:
MP3
CD
CDR
CD/MP3
CDR/MP3

I ran the scan media files on my mp3 file directory and everthing in the format was changed to mp3. How can I save my changes in the format when I do a scan?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to exclude format field from scanning.
