FreeDB VS CDDB

I had a look in the Forum, but some messages are outdated.
What is the situation now in OrangeCD?
Is it only FreeDB that is used to automatically fill-in the track info for a new album? Or are other sources like CDDB,... also possible?
I found that some CD's are not recognized by Freedb while they are known by CDDB.

Unfortunately, OrangeCD does not support CDDB/Gracenote.

There are certain legal problems with simultaneous use of CDDB and FreeDB, basically we had to choose only one of them, and we did.

You can use this freeware player to retrieve details from CDDB

Player has a menu option to export the downloaded details to windows/cdplayer.ini and Orange CD then has an option to import the details from there. This works!

NB If OrangeCD has previously saved the details of the disc not found on freedb under "New Artist" or some such, this will block the import of new details from cdplayer.ini. You will need to delete this entry.
