Hi

I'm just evaluating OrangeCD, along with a couple of other CD cataloguing programs.

I like a featue in one of the other programs where you can, whilst retaining the artist name (eg John Coltrane), add another field by which the CD is to be sorted (Coltrane, John), so that when I This would then conform to the way may CD collection is stored.

Is such a feature likely to be implemented in OrangeCD in the near future?

Hi,

we consider implementing a "canonical name" for the artists. Basically, it means that John Coltrane, J. Coltrane and Coltrane, John will all be filed under Coltrane, John.

This isn't really time consuming task, so it's likely to be implemented soon.

Couple of months is more realistic term, because currently we are too busy with Boolean search, bulk edit and fixing old bugs. "Canonical names" are not for the next update, but for the one following it.
