Beta testing the new version. Good so far, but it seems to hate my date convention though.
I use the japanese-style convention (YYYY.MM.DD) but I'm having to re-enter every single date. This is a sacrifice I'm willing to make for the improvement, but it seems to "convert" the date to the exact same format I've been using..? This woukld also be fine, but it won't accept it as typed; I have to use the drop-down menus on the popup screen. Again a hassle I would put up with but i have dates entered for over three thousand of my entries.
Am I missing something?

Regional settings are for UK english; short date is already at 2004.01.30, long date is 30 January 2004..?

OK, now I fixed the problem. Next beta (expected Monday night) will be able to convert all your dates without re-typing.
Andrei.

Hi,
I just tried exactly the same:
1. entered 2000.03.31 in the Release Date field in the old version
2. in Control Panel, set short date format to "yyyy.MM.dd" (without quotes), date separator is ".".
3. ran newest version and it converted the date automatically...
Can you send me the exact strings in your Regional Settings? Maybe there is something else that I did not took into account. Thanks,
Andrei

i can't post a .jpg but here are the settings. let me know if you need more:
short date sample: 2004.03.14
short date format: yyyy.MM.dd
date separator: .
long date sample: 14 March 2004
long date format: dd MMMM yyyy
I have tried switching the long date format yo yyyy MMMM dd but that had no effect; i restarted and it still wants me to retype.

Agrr... Still no luck. Can you send me an excerpt of your database, one or two albums is enough. Create a new database and Import several albums with dates from your main database. Thanks in advance,
Andrei
Dear Andrey!
I have a problem with date conversion too.
I have some quantity of 2CDin1 (For example - Electric Light Orchestra "Time"/"Balance Of Power"). The date I wrote in format 1981/1986.
In new version I loose second date. How I can solve this trouble?
Sorry for my English :-[
Still there is no solution? ???

Alex,
This format is not supported by OrangeCD 5.2 so I think the best you can do is re-enter date as period 1982-1986 or leave just one date (and possible put a 1982-1986 in the notes section).

Andrei!
I so sorry, but date as period I can enter only in the Song Properties, not in Album properties.

You are right, release date is not supposed to be a period :( Perhaps you could enter dates into Recording date field instead... I don't see any other workaround.

May be, I can define a custom field and include in template check of this field : if this field is not empty, - display it instead the standard; in other case - use standard field?
If it true, please advise me how
Thanx

Yes, the following code will do this:
[code]<!--[if(custom1)]-->
