Mis-sorted Artist display ... how to fix it

I am cataloging a number of "Various Artists" CDs, and the display is badly mis-sorted ... Eddie up to Jimmy, then back to Adam up to Jack (for example). How can I re-sort the display into correct alphabetical order?

Have you tried right clicking, and then selecting Sort | Artist?

This should work if you first make a content selection in the left window, and then right click the display window on the right hand side.

It turns out that (apparently) all I needed to do was close the program, then re-enter it! When I opened it up just now to try the suggestion made, everything was as it should be!
