:) Got to say that your software is most definitely the best in its genre and I "HAVE" seen them all.

One little glitch - I intend moving over to Linux, any chance you'll be releasing a Linux version or will I forever be tied to Windoze to manage my CD collection?

We have no plans of porting OrangeCD to Linux. Unfortunately, none of us are Linux programming expert, so it's unlikely we could provide adequate software quality under Linux.

This you might try

Although this is not the most easiest way to do it, but it does work (to some extend) ;D
It is a must to have a dual system, Win98 and Linux. :o
Then go to a website and download WineX.. umm, dunno the website right now so do a search.
You install that and then it should be possible to run ANY Windows program in Linux. :P

This operation requires that you are very familiar with windows AND linux, and if you don't have a clue what dll's are, then just forget about it ;D

I did manage to run it ....... once(!) LOL

I have even tried running it under Win4Lin and VMWare...funny enough its the only software that I know that crashes under it!

There must be something low level it is doing...

Interesting... I'd love to take a look at the crash. Can you post a dump if you by chance still have this system? Thanks.

I've just tried version 5.1 beta 2 and it hangs with exactly the same error

I would also love to have the Linux support for OrangeCD. I have tried running it under Linux with Wine but without luck. The Orange CD Player works fine but entering the registration code and running Orange CD Catalog won't work.

I realize this is pretty old, but I wanted to see if there was any progress or further thoughts on the issue. I'm almost exclusively Linux, and certainly would not mind paying for software I could use - even in an otherwise open-source environment.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't even want or need a GUI per se - my main goal is just to catalog it.

Developers: you have a large potential audience if this is something that could be integrated into the MythTV project ;)
